Cleveland Bible Camp Ends
Successfully
A total
of 160 persons attended the Cleveland Bible Camp north of Stuart the
past two weeks, and directors claimed it to be the largest attendance inthe history of the camp. The Senior High Camp, which lasted from July
5-8, had a total 36 campers, 15 staff members, five temporary helpers,
and five children, for a grand total of 61 campers.
The intermediate camp which
lasted from July 10-15 had a total of 69 campers, nine senior high
workers, six children, 18 staff members, and eight temporary helpers for
a grand total of 110 persons. Eleven of the staff members worked at both
camps to account for the discrepancy in the figures.
Campers hailed from Cleveland,
Stuart and Atkinson with 15 from O'Neill, 3 from Randolph, 3 from
Valentine, 3 from Bassett, and 1 from Madison. Camp Sunday, July 15, was
the highlight of the session with Dr. George S. Bancroft as the special
speaker. He delivered an inspiring sermon, at the morning service and
gave a fine message at the closing meeting in the afternoon. Besides the
campers and staff members there was a large attendance from Cleveland,
Stuart, Atkinson, O'Neill, Randolph, and Bassett at Camp Sunday.

Mrs. D. D. Su.; Special Speakers - Dr. George S. Bancroft and Dr. James
Ramsey; Camp Manager, Charles Mulford; Camp Dean - Linden Mulford; Dean
of Boys - Wes Cobb; Registrar and Dean of Girls - Vivian Cobb; Music
Director - Ruth Su; Handicraft Director - Mrs. Curtis Barnett; Camp Mom
and Assistant Handicraft Director - Mrs. Fred Roberts; Assistant Dean
for Boys and Recreation Director - Calvin McClurg; Camp Cooks - Mrs.
Elmer McClurg, Noma Hall, Margaret Keidel, and Katie VanCleave.
Each year something new is
added. This summer a permanent roof was put on the girl's bunk house.
New springs were opened for more water supply, new toilet facilities
were provided, and a new cement floor was constructed for the dining
room and around the kitchen. Tarps were rigged over the east side of the
chapel for shade.
The Niobrara Presbytery is
holding Junior High camp at the campsite for the second consecutive
year, with a total of 73 persons in attendance, which includes 42
campers and 31 staff members and families. The date for this camp is
Monday, July 16, to Saturday, July 21.
